Among the various rooms of the Patriarchi, a hotel and restaurant in the heart of Aquileia, guests can choose to enjoy the warm welcome of the fogolar a traditional Friulian fireplace. Here, they can sample all of the traditional local dishes of the Friuli lagoon area which have often been revised to make them lighter, more contemporary and even more delicious. The menu includes specialities such as toc’ in braide, a soft polenta with a sauce made from local cheeses, served in crisp montasio cheese cases; bòcuis, small crepes stuffed with ricotta, cheese and bacon; and risotto with baby greens and pitina , meatballs made with smoked meat and dusted with cornmeal. Excellent homemade cakes and pastries are also served.
