Christian Aquileia

Christian Aquileia

The patriarchal basilica, perhaps Aquileia’s best-known monument, is a landmark in the Christian art and architecture of the north Adriatic region. Its heritage dates back to the early 4th century and is particularly rich when it comes to the Middle Ages. Next to it are the other trappings of the places of worship: the baptistery, the adjacent room (Südhalle, recently turned into a museum), the Pagan church.
