Several frescoes were painted in the Bertoli house at different times, especially in the more important rooms and at the approach to the stairwell. In the 14th century, a first-floor room in the western part of the building was frescoed with a draped design prominently featuring the coat of arms belonging to the Counts of Gorizia, legal advisors to the Aquileian church. New paintings were added in later periods, in the house’s central main hall and at the entrance to the stairwell.
